**Application process closed for summer 2023. Please check back this fall to explore summer opportunities for 2024.**
Are you firmly rooted in your faith and willing to share it with Japanese people? Are you willing to learn and take risks, laugh at yourself, and try new things? Are you looking for exposure to cross-cultural ministry, to grow in leadership skills and your understanding of theology, but also to grow in love for Jesus, the Church, and the world? Do you want to be mentored in these areas?
This mentored "TCT" internship program in Tokyo will help you develop in these three areas:
-
(T) theological education: Grow in Bible knowledge with an emphasis on applying it in everyday life and ministry.
-
(C) cross-cultural ministry experience: Assist in the regular ministry of the Japanese Church with an emphasis on serving with new church plants. Coaching will be provided as you grow in serving in a cross-cultural setting.
-
A one-on-one (T) training and mentoring: Interns will meet weekly with am assigned mentor who will develop a personalized growth plan for the summer.
Ministry opportunities will vary depending on your interests and gifts, but some common activities will include things like teaching English classes, helping the Tokyo team run outreach events, demographic research for church planting locations, sharing your faith with people you meet, tutoring missionary kids, assisting with church worship, and more. Japanese speaking ability is a plus, but not required.
Dates: June through July
