Wildfires ravaged Chile in February, 2024. The fires damaged or completely destroyed an estimated 16,000 homes, many in Viña del Mar where our MTW missionaries David and Danielle Grotton and John and Cathy Rug minister. Rebuilding may take years.
MTW is partnering with three Presbyterian churches through CEMIPRE and with a local evangelical association called Gospel 360 to assist in this rebuilding. With guidance from Grottons and Rugs needs of the community will be identified and prioritized.
The most immediate need is for volunteers skilled in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work to help repair and rebuild homes.
Volunteers will lodge at an Airbnb. The approximate ground cost will be $1000 per person, plus airfare to Santiago, Chile.
