Scotland Preaching Sabbatical

The Free Church of Scotland welcomes PCA pastors, such as those on sabbatical or retired, to use their gifts and experience to care for a Scottish congregation in need of short-term pulpit supply. This one- to three-month opportunity will give the ordained minister a chance to experience ministry in a cross-cultural, post-Christian context as well as to experience the culture and history that has informed and impacted American Presbyterianism. The Free Church is a denomination of over 100 churches, many of which are without a pastor and would benefit from the presence of a minister even for a short period.

The hope is that you will return to your local church refreshed, but also with a greater vision for the mission of the church globally. A preaching sabbatical with the Free Church will give you the freedom to pursue personal study and interests while grounding you in a local ministry context that will allow you to continue to use your gifts for the benefit of the local church and the kingdom of Christ Jesus. Perhaps the Lord will use this time to call you to serve in Scotland or in some other missions context.
