Come hear from some of the best speakers in the region, missionaries, and missions-minded laypeople. Leon Brown

Lead Pastor, Montage Church

Speaking Topic: Missions and the Church

Leon Brown, a native of Los Angeles, is the lead pastor of Montage Church. Prior to this, he served as the church planting pastor of Crown & Joy Presbyterian Church (Richmond, Virginia). Leon received a B. A. in communication studies from the University of San Diego in 2008, an M. Div. from Westminster Seminary California in 2011, an M. A. in historical theology from Westminster Seminary California in 2012, and a B.A. Honors in Hebrew from the University of the Free State in 2017. In addition to his church and academic work, he also served in the navy for 10 years. He is presently pursuing his Ph.D. in Hebrew, and most recently published All Are Welcome: Toward a Multi-Everything Church. Leon loves spending time with his family, listening to sermons and theological lectures, hiking, traveling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and judo. He and his wife, Rosalinda, have three children.

Lauren Kim

Visiting Assistant Professor at Claremont McKenna

Speaking Topic: The History of Missions

Lauren Kim is currently teaching Christian history at Claremont McKenna College. She was also an assistant professor of church history at Torch Trinity Graduate University (Seoul, South Korea). She earned her doctorate and master's degree in Reformation studies at the University of St. Andrews (Scotland) studying at the Reformation Studies Institute. She has a master's degree in historical theology from Westminster Seminary California (Escondido) and a bachelor's degree in religious studies from the University of Southern California (Los Angeles).

Erin Pettengill

MTW Missionary / West Coast Hub

Speaking Topic: Women on the Mission Field

Erin spent eleven years in the U.S. Army. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Master’s of Public Health and worked at a children’s hospital for 12 years. Erin has traveled the world working in disaster response in both Sri Lanka and Haiti, and as a medical missionary in Egypt, the Philippines, Honduras, Mexico, and Equatorial Guinea. After eight years as a missionary in Honduras, she worked two years as a full-time missionary in Central Africa. Her family then returned to the U.S. and continue with their missionary work by training, equipping, and raising up new missionaries.

Rodney Davila

MTW Missionary / Costa Rica

Speaking Topic: The Life of a Missionary

For 26 years Rodney has served as missionary and trainer in three different countries for Mission to the World. After being involved with the training centers in Bogota, Colombia and in Santiago, Chile, Rodney moved to Costa Rica to empower and lead an MTW church planting team that serves with a local church called ICRICEN under an official partnership. There, he trains leaders and future pastors, aids with trauma counseling, and supports community development with the goal that new church plants would become self-sustaining. Rodney and his wife Jana have two children.
