Children’s Ministries Mentor/Coordinator
Opportunity Details
Ethiopia is a religiously and linguistically diverse country with an ancient history. While Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity has deep roots, and Protestant churches abound, false teachings of a prosperity gospel are common and Islam is quickly spreading. In Addis Ababa, an MTW team is working to encourage healthy and mature Presbyterian churches that will impact their local communities with the gospel. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Will you join us?
In church plants made up mostly of women and children, missionaries are needed to serve alongside church planting teams to help develop children’s ministries. Direct ministries could include helping with Sunday school and youth programs, teaching and training youth leaders, and mentoring and helping to raise up a new generation of youth ministers. Your Christian life and relationships with youth and youth leaders will have great long-term impact.
Candidates should be spiritually mature, flexible, humble and teachable. A willingness to learn and grow into this position is more important than your existing experience. A certificate or degree in ministry, theology, or a related field can help qualify you for a work permit. For men, ordination is a plus. Learning a local language (Amharic or Afan Oromo) will be essential, but our team will help you!
