Opportunity Details
Nagoya Christian School is dedicated to providing a quality education to missionary children, while sharing the love of Christ with the surrounding Japanese community.
At NCS, you will work with a team supporting missionary children. By providing a stable and supportive educational environment, these children will grow into confident, well-rounded individuals equipped to make a positive impact on the world. You will also have the opportunity to share the gospel with Japanese people, making a difference in the surrounding community too.
NCS needs:
- Elementary teachers: teachers who are adaptable and skilled in differentiating instruction across grade levels in multi-level classrooms. Ideal candidates are flexible, organized, and passionate about working with younger students in a dynamic classroom environment.
- Junior high teachers (all subjects): Teach a variety of subjects (based on need and teacher strengths) and integrate faith into classroom instruction. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, relational, and able to connect with middle school students both academically and spiritually.
- High school teacher (history): Help students understand the past and think critically about the present, while integrating a biblical worldview into historical study. Ideal candidates have a strong background in history and a passion for helping students think deeply and communicate clearly.
- Interns: Explore long-term missions in Japan. Interns typically serve from mid-August through mid-June (the academic year) and serve the school full-time, supporting both students and staff. In addition, there are opportunities to explore a variety of other ministries such as college ministry, English outreach, or arts-based ministry. Interns will have a well-rounded experience that helps them discover how God can use their gifts and calling in Japan, supported through regular mentoring and work accountability, ensuring both personal growth and effective service.
- Future leadership opportunity: NCA is beginning the process of identifying a principal. This is a unique opportunity for someone with a heart for leadership, Christian education, and long-term ministry in Japan.
Teachers should have appropriate educational qualifications and classroom experience, with a strong commitment to excellence in instruction and student development. Interns should have completed or be pursuing post-secondary education.
