Opportunity Details

Come for 11 months and partner with us as we seek to equip Christians in Japan for the work of gospel ministry. This internship focuses on “three Ms and an L”: ministry, muscle, mentoring, and language. 

(1) Ministry: Learn to share the gospel with Japanese people, build relationships in the community, and be involved in a Japanese church.

(2) Muscle: You will assist in some capacity of the ministry of Christ Bible Institute, depending on your gifting and interests. Past opportunities have included assisting in video production and editing, administrative work, graphic design, book distribution, photography, library science, education support for missionary families, and much more. Service always includes certain cleaning and volunteering responsibilities. Interns are asked to maintain a servant-hearted attitude and be ready to jump in to help with any needs that may arise for the support of the overall ministry.

(3) Mentoring: Missionary interns will either be mentored one-on-one or in a mentoring group, depending on their stage of life, term of service, and number of other interns serving at the time.

(4) Language: We value language learning as a crucial part of the internship. CBI interns are required to study Japanese and are strongly encouraged to use up to 10 hours of “work” time per week for language acquisition. The team provides several options.
