FAQS

Application process
How do I start the application process?

The first step is to fill out our pre-application form. A staff member will be in touch with you to discuss your interests and the best fit with what you're looking for.

Main qualifications
What are the main qualifications MTW looks for in 1-11 month candidates?

For people seeking to serve with MTW for one month or longer, MTW examines an applicant's spiritual life, relationship with their church, their personal relationship with Christ, their personal traits and characteristics, ministry experience, conviction that God is calling them into missionary service, knowledge of the Bible, and their understanding of the Reformed faith.

Training
What kind of training will I receive?

Those serving 1-11 months will complete a series of online training courses in areas such as culture, working as a team, and fundraising. Beyond the required courses, optional electives in areas like spiritual development are available too.

You will also participate in a series of virtual cohort meetings, led by missionaries and MTW counselors. These meetings also provide opportunities to get to know other 1-11 month participants who are preparing to serve.

An MTW staff person (your “resource representative”) will guide you along the way.
