Opportunity Details

Kenya is a strategic hub for ministry in East Africa. Nairobi gathers people from across the region and world, creating unique opportunities to disciple leaders whose influence extends globally. With a diverse, relational culture and real need for strong biblical teaching, it’s a compelling place to serve, build community, and strengthen healthy churches.

Missionaries, ministry leaders, and their families often face unique pressures and challenges while serving cross-culturally. MTW Kenya is developing the Uzima Counseling Center to help provide biblical counseling and care for missionaries and ministry partners across sub-Saharan Africa. We are seeking biblical counselors who desire to serve missionaries, their children, and national ministry partners through counseling, encouragement, and pastoral care. Counselors will serve both missionary families and national partners, helping provide care during seasons of stress, transition, or ministry difficulty.

Because missionaries come from many cultural and linguistic backgrounds, we are particularly seeking counselors who can serve in languages other than English. Korean-speaking counselors are particularly needed to serve Korean missionaries and their families.

Since this ministry is still being developed, counselors will need to be flexible, creative, and willing to help shape the vision and structure of the counseling center as it grows. Candidates should have training in biblical counseling from a recognized Reformed seminary and a heart for caring for missionaries and ministry leaders. Cross-cultural sensitivity, humility, and strong relational skills are essential, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with the broader MTW Kenya team.
