First a Lockdown, Then Two Hurricanes: Impact and Response in Honduras (VIDEO)

When the Honduran government implemented lockdowns in response to COVID-19 in early 2020, they were severe. People could only leave their homes one day a week, according to an assigned number. This was an unwelcome inconvenience for MTW missionaries Adam and Michelle Cain and family, but it was a severe crisis for much of the lower income population of La Ceiba.
In response, Michelle began buying extra food and supplies and worked out a distribution plan with her Honduran friends and neighbors to get the food kits to those who most needed it. When Hurricane Eta devastated the area with massive flooding and mudslides and was shortly followed by Hurricane Iota slamming the same area, Michelle and her friends, with the help of MTW Compassion funds, sprang into action once again.
