MUNICH, GERMANY
The Bavarians of southern Germany refer to their region as “paradise,” and the wealthy, influential city of Munich is its capital. It is rich with culture, boasting museums, theaters, universities, and a high standard of living. The world comes to Munich to study, to work, and to play. But with less than one percent of people attending a gospel-preaching church, Munich is lacking in the riches of the gospel of grace.
Even with its secular culture, Munich is, counter-intuitively, a spiritual city, with many people expressing an interest in spiritual things. This creates open doors for conversations about truth, meaning, sin, shame, and the gospel. MTW Munich is partnering with German nationals to plant gospel-preaching churches in this cosmopolitan city. They minister together through Christian counseling, discipleship and training, translation of Christian materials, and teaching in a local Reformed seminary.
