Multicultural Mobilization
Why do we need multicultural missionaries?
“There before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb” (Rev. 7:9).
Why is it so important to raise up multicultural missionaries?
We Believe Diversity in Our Community …
… more accurately reflects the kingdom of God (Rev 7:9).
We Believe Diversity in Our Community …
… leverages the unique perspectives, experiences, competencies, and gifts that people of color bring to our teams (Rom 12:4-8; 1 Cor 12:12-13).
We Believe Diversity in Our Community …
… is a powerful apologetic to the global nature of our faith and the reconciling power of the gospel to break down walls of hostility between peoples (Eph 2:11-22).
We Believe Diversity in Our Community …
… is consistent with the Presbyterian Church in America’s report on racial reconciliation and its recommendations.
A Multitude From Every Nation
We believe that when more missionaries from diverse ethnic backgrounds are invited and encouraged to bring their voices and their gospel stories, it strengthens our witness and broadens our collective ability to reach and minister to every nation.
As people from many cultures serve together, we can beautifully illustrate the future state of the kingdom of God as seen by the apostle John: “After this I looked and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb … crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’ (Rev. 7:9-10).”
Bring Your Strengths to the Effort
We rejoice that an increasing number of MTW’s new missionaries come from multicultural backgrounds. If you are considering using your gifts to spread the gospel globally, please fill out our Get Started form and we will contact you.
There are many ways to support this effort to send missionaries from “all tribes and people.” Will you partner with us? Find out how by contacting a member of our team below.
