Unwilling to Surrender

Apr 3, 2016

In Berlin, a man stands on the edge of the kingdom. He’s been meeting with missionaries regularly and seems to understand the gospel. Yet when asked about trusting in God's promises and making a radical commitment to follow Christ, a look of sadness overcame him. “I hear what you’re saying,” he replied, “but even if I were to be baptized I'm not willing to change." He then listed several areas of his life where his heart is still enslaved to something worldly. His unwillingness to surrender his life to Christ keeps him on the edge, but we are praying he will take that step one day soon.

Although this man is not yet ready to commit to a life of following Jesus, we are excited that others are making a public profession of faith. Last Sunday Mosaik Berlin and Gospel Haus had a combined baptismal service where five people received this covenant sign and seal of grace. Both churches have seen significant growth in the past year, with attendance nearly doubling.

Thank you for your prayers and financial support that provides for missionaries to continue their work of advancing the kingdom. And pray for those who count the cost of being a disciple of Jesus in Berlin and around the world.  What a blessing to see them forsake all other loyalties and serve the King.
