Missions Training Internship in the Middle East

Global Muslim Ministry Team North Africa-Middle East Muslim Team 1–11 Months Middle East
OPPORTUNITY DETAILS

Missions trainers with 25 years of ministry experience in the Muslim world are offering a new training internship program based in the midst of an unreached people group on the Arabian Peninsula. Interns should plan to serve a minimum of four months. This training internship is offered twice annually, in January and September.

Starting with some initial pre-reading, trainings will address topics like ethnography, contextualization, Islamics, comparative theology, apologetics, Disciple-Making Movements, team life, conflict resolution, suffering, spiritual warfare, long-term resiliency on the field, and more. After four weeks of intensive learning, trainees will apply their learning in practical ministry to locals, while being supported by continuing trainings, cohort discussions, and beginning to learn the local dialect of Arabic. All of this will take place in fellowship with a team of long-term MTW missionaries, and trainees will participate fully in team life.

Currently in this country, there are basically no known churches of national believers! Interns will join our team in broad sowing of the gospel among locals, and God could use your efforts to further the work of His kingdom. The team is a partnership team between MTW and the 18.26 Network vocational ministry, so participants will also have the opportunity to learn how their professional training and work experience can be used in missions. While this program will give participants the opportunity to test and consider whether ministry to Muslims is a good long-term fit, the training and experience gained here will also help prepare participants for fruitful ministry wherever God may lead.

Candidates should be spiritually mature, flexible, humble, teachable, and comfortable initiating conversations with locals. Women should expect to follow local customs of dress.
