Darlene grew up in Indiana and Tennessee and came to know Jesus at an early age. During college, she began praying about her role in God’s plan to bring together worshippers from every nation.

After graduating, Darlene became involved in international student outreach, led Bible studies at her church, and was able to go on three summer mission trips, while also working in IT systems design and training. Those years helped confirm God’s call to cross-cultural ministry and Japan.

Darlene has been a member of MTW’s church-planting team in Nagoya, Japan, since 2000. She teaches women’s Bible studies and conversational English classes as part of her team’s work of raising up, strengthening, and encouraging churches and leaders in Japan. She is grateful for the churches and individuals who partner with her in this mission.
