Business brings people together, a lot like church does. In addition, in Senegal and around the world, pastors often start businesses because they feel called to be a pastor and realize local churches can’t support them financially. Many church leaders have to be co-vocational. Earlier this year MTW’s Workplace Ministries took a group of businesspeople to Dakar, Senegal, Institute at the invitation of our partner church, where they shared some of their business knowledge in a training in partnership with a group called the Samakag. The Business Essentials training helped provide a foundation for Senegalese men and women, most of whom are believers, which in turn helps build community and support the local church.

MTW’s Workplace Ministries is about bringing people together around the workplace using our business skills and knowledge to help the global Church and serve the kingdom. The hope of MTW’s Workplace Ministries and the Workplace Resource Network is that more people in the U.S. will recognize that the training and skills and experience that God’s given them can be used internationally to help build the kingdom of God.
