DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

The Dominican Republic, which shares the island of Hispaniola with the country of Haiti, has been a predominantly Catholic nation since the arrival of the Spanish. Unfortunately, many who call themselves Catholic are not active in their faith, while others practice a blend of Christianity and Afro-Spiritism. Protestant churches are present, but often lack a solid theological foundation. And many people who respond to evangelism efforts do not follow up with membership in a Bible-believing congregation.

MTW would love to see a church-planting movement ignite in the Dominican Republic! Over the years, God has given us the opportunity to teach and train both Dominican and Haitian church leaders, as well as to partner with the Luke Society to assist with medical teams. We desire to build on this foundation and are thankful that the Lord has called several missionaries to serve long term. We are trusting that the Lord will call others to join them.

Theological Education in the Dominican Republic
Longer

Pray that a church-planting movement ignite in the Dominican Republic. Over the years, God has given us the opportunity to teach and train both Dominican and Haitian church leaders and we have finally launched a team in the DR.

Please pray for Dominican church leaders to be trained and equipped to start new churches in the DR.
