The Privilege of Reaching the Unreached (AUDIO/VIDEO)

By The Gospel Coalition Conference 2021, Aug 9, 2022

One of the trends we are seeing today is a great emphasis on social justice issues: anti-sex trafficking, poverty alleviation, racial reconciliation, etc. This is commendable and the Lord will honor these efforts. However another justice issue is not getting as much attention as it deserves: unreached people groups.

As we think about equity, fairness, equal justice for all people, we remember that all are created in the image of God. These unreached communities have no access to the gospel, to Christians, to Christian communities. They’re being denied the opportunity to hear the message that leads to true life, true freedom, true security. What is in ample supply for us—the Word of God, teachers, resources, conferences, community, godly examplesare denied to people made in God’s image in these unreached people groups. How then should we, as followers of Jesus, respond to this issue?

This talk was recorded live at the 2021 Gospel Coalition Conference. It is being used with permission by TGC.

Give thanks for the work God is doing in South Asia in the wake of COVID lockdown relief. Ask God to grow the new believers who came to faith in Christ as a result.

Pray for the national pastors serving in Mexico and Cuba, many of whom are bi-vocational, and the work God is doing among them.

Pray for the people of Mati, Greece, who are responding with spiritual openness following disaster response efforts of the Greek Evangelical Church and MTW.

Pray for the kids in Aquiles Serdan neighborhood of Reynosa, Mexico, and the outreach of Isaiah 55 ministry there.

Pray for the abandoned and disabled children living at The Josephine House in Cusco, Peru. Pray that they will grow in the knowledge of Christ and be adopted into godly homes.

Pray for the musicians (and fishermen) in "The Band" of Nosy Be, Madagascar. They've put newly-translated Scripture to music, but are just beginning to grasp its meaning.

Pray for the ministry of the Etiennes in Gonaives, Haiti. Pray for the church, schools, children's homes, and for the raising up of national leaders.

Pray for national pastor Giotis Kantartzis and missionaries Philip and Kay Luther serving in Athens, Greece, as they work toward a vision of expansive church-planting in a region that is hungry for truth.

Pray for new churches being planted in Colombia. Every church MTW helps plant is a missionary church whose vision from the start is to plant other churches.

Pray for God's provision for missionaries raising support, and that they would remember that developing ministry partners is a ministry.
