As COVID-19 attacks the continent of Africa, the church is on display. Though the church in Africa is large in numbers, it is weak, following decades of evangelism without discipleship. As the pandemic brings people to their knees, MTW missionaries and national partners are moving full speed ahead with a wide-sweeping vision to transform the church in Africa.

A Nigerian proverb states, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” MTW International Director of Africa Victor Nakah aims to go far. He has a vision for transforming the church in Africa through a renewed focus on discipleship, and is working together with missionaries and African church leaders to make this vision a reality.

According to Victor, the best thing the American church can do to help is to disciple the leadership of the African church. “We need American pastors to come alongside African pastors to disciple, mentor, coach, and share resources responsibly.”

Watch and learn more about this vision and how MTW missionaries and national partners are working together to build a future for the African church.
