Danny was training to become a Catholic priest until a crisis of faith interrupted his preparation. From that day forward the young Colombian vowed to never commit to a church again. He was on a quest for answers and didn’t believe the church had anything to offer.

After finishing a Ph.D. in philosophy, marrying a North American wife, and having two beautiful, curly-headed daughters, Danny and his family showed up at the United Church of Bogotá.

“I’m here because she wanted me to come with her,” he said matter-of-factly as he introduced himself to MTW-Next missionaries who help lead the church.

Now, more than two years later, Danny and his family sit in the first row every single Sunday. Danny’s wife recently gave a tear-soaked hug to the missionary family they’d grown to love.

“You have no idea how important this ministry has been to us,” she said. “I never thought we’d be at a church together as a family. I never thought he’d come with us. Thank you.”

Now Danny not only leads his family spiritually, but also loves God’s Church and is devouring Christ-centered theology. He found his answers in Jesus through the church.

That mom’s tearful thank you wasn’t just directed toward this missionary couple. It was directed toward you. Your partnership in the gospel makes ministries to the nations and the next generation possible.
