MTW Senegal: Planting Churches and Growing Leaders (VIDEO)

In Dakar, Senegal, a Muslim-majority country where evangelical Christians make up only 0.01% of the population, church planting and pastoral training is difficult. But in recent years, the MTW Senegal team has seen encouraging growth. MTW and the National Presbyterian Church in Senegal are planting churches, training pastors, and helping pastors and church members develop businesses and learn sustainable agriculture techniques.
A key component of the ministry is identifying and training new pastors for rural and urban church plants. One of the ways this happens is through the Timothy House, a two-year residential church planter training center. The MTW Senegal team is also supporting the local church in its work with at-risk girls, and they are continuing the work of agricultural and business development to address the sustainability of church planting efforts, helping pastors to serve co-vocationally. A new RUF-Global campus ministry has also launched recently on a Dakar university campus.
There are numerous ways to serve this growing team. Come to Senegal to see the work firsthand and to discern how God may be calling you to serve, either on a vision trip, short-term team, or full-time basis. Reach out to us at [email protected].
