Island to Island Gospel Fellowship: Reaching the Pacific Islands Together (VIDEO)

By Tom Mills, Aug 1, 2023

The Church in the Pacific Islands faces a number of challenges. It’s easy to assume these island nations are Christian because of the colonial mission and subsequent church growth, but over the decades the Church's gospel message has gotten muddied. Secularization has crept in. MTW missionaries in Australasia have been hearing, "We need the true gospel. We need the authority of the Word of God to be preached and taught."

MTW missionaries and Pacific Islanders living in Australia and New Zealand began going to these islands and asking, "Who can we partner with?" Encouraged by collaboration between denominations in the wake of Cyclone Pam, the idea of Island to Island Gospel Fellowship began to take form. God has been leading and connecting MTW to people who really want to see the Bible taught faithfully. MTW’s role is to ask them what they need us to do and how we can help.

The goal is to get back to the very core what the gospel's about—the gospel of reconciliation, seeing more and more people come to the true saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
