Flourishing Through Work+Place Ministries (VIDEO)

By Tom Mills, Mar 7, 2023

Through MTW’s Work+Place ministries, staff and volunteers host business workshops to teach lay people—most from local churches—how to start and run their own business so that they can make a profit and become self-sustaining. As a result, they become living examples of God’s plan for mankind. Participants are asked to think through and plan for how they can use their business for the sake of the gospel and to introduce their neighbors to Christ.

The trainings are helping people make a profit so they can be self-sustaining, get the food they need, and pay their children’s school fees and medical fees. Small businesses also enable some to become co-vocational pastors. Those who complete the training can show by their lives and businesses that they’re honest, that they’re capable, that they can sustain themselves, and that their families can flourish, which opens doors to the gospel.

Pray for the abandoned and disabled children living at The Josephine House in Cusco, Peru. Pray that they will grow in the knowledge of Christ and be adopted into godly homes.

Pray for the musicians (and fishermen) in "The Band" of Nosy Be, Madagascar. They've put newly-translated Scripture to music, but are just beginning to grasp its meaning.

Pray for the ministry of the Etiennes in Gonaives, Haiti. Pray for the church, schools, children's homes, and for the raising up of national leaders.

Pray for national pastor Giotis Kantartzis and missionaries Philip and Kay Luther serving in Athens, Greece, as they work toward a vision of expansive church-planting in a region that is hungry for truth.

Pray for new churches being planted in Colombia. Every church MTW helps plant is a missionary church whose vision from the start is to plant other churches.

Pray for the Navajo Church, that God would strengthen churches and raise up and equip new Indigenous leaders.

Pray for missionaries at each distinct stage of ministry: discerning a call, itineration, transition to the field, service on the field, home ministry assignment, and transition home at the end of service.

Pray that men and women of all ages, giftings, and talents would consider how God could use them on the mission field.

Pray for the fulfillment of the Great Commission, for Christian revival, for current MTW missionaries, and for more laborers for the harvest.

Pray that U.S. churches would understand and heed the biblical mandate for global missions.
