For the first three years of its life, PCA church plant Exilic Church in Manhattan was focused on local outreach to seekers and skeptics. Then a church member reminded Pastor Aaron Chung that, while they’re really great reaching out to the community, they’re not so good at telling people to minister to the nations. Around the same time, Aaron heard about MTW’s 1% Challenge (for every PCA church to send 1% of their members into global missions) and got to work thinking strategically about global missions.

Aaron and other church leaders developed a strategy: Before they could hit that goal of sending 1 percent of their church to the mission field, they first needed to raise up 10% of their community to go on a mission trip, and encourage 100% to support global missions through prayer and finances.

Watch as Aaron Chung shares his vision and excitement for the future of Exilic church as they are organically and strategically think about overseas missions, and learn about the exciting results from their first missions trip.
