Vision Trips: Confirming Your Call to Missions (VIDEO)

By Tom Mills, May 3, 2022

Ryan and Katie felt for a long time that they were called to serve overseas. They’re not evangelists or church planters—she’s a doctor and he’s a project manager—but they felt serving internationally would be a way God could use their gifts in a cross-cultural context to further the gospel. They felt one of the best ways to seek confirmation on God’s call was to go on an MTW vision trip, where they would meet people and get to know the area, where they could have boots on the ground. So they went on a vision trip to Central Asia, to the city where they were considering serving. They visited neighborhoods, grocery stores, churches, and met local people. As they hoped, the trip gave Ryan and Katie more insight as they continued to pray and move forward into God’s calling. For Ryan & Katie, their call was confirmed. They feel a connection and a calling.

Pray for national pastor Giotis Kantartzis and missionaries Philip and Kay Luther serving in Athens, Greece, as they work toward a vision of expansive church-planting in a region that is hungry for truth.

Pray for new churches being planted in Colombia. Every church MTW helps plant is a missionary church whose vision from the start is to plant other churches.

DAY 26: Pray for connection, encouragement, and support for wives of church planters in East Asia, facing both internal conflicts (family/church) and external (government) pressures.

DAY 25: Pray for Japanese church members not returning to church because of fear of the coronavirus. Pray for their faith to thrive in the midst of the continuing pandemic.

DAY 23: Ethiopia: Pray for Ethiopia ACT’s family advocates, who care for the physical and spiritual needs of families affected by HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and other communicable diseases.

DAY 22: Europe and North America: Pray for new team leaders, refugee/immigrant ministry workers, ESL teachers, and more to reach out to Muslim people in Europe and North America.
