Dear church,
Jesus told his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” We have been praying to the Lord of the harvest to send at least 1 percent of the PCA to long-term cross-cultural missions within the next 10 years. That would mean almost 2,900 new missionaries sent out across the globe.
Not only are we praying for an increase in numbers, we also desire to mobilize people from diverse communities around our nation. We expect that as we pray for workers for the harvest, the Spirit of God will answer and raise up people of every color to be His ambassadors around the globe.
The 1% Challenge is about participating in God’s grand story of redemption. It’s about launching emissaries of hope into a broken world that needs Jesus.
So, whether you send your 1 percent through us or through another organization, send your best and brightest, your evangelists and disciple-makers, your artists and innovators—send your first fruits.
We are eagerly awaiting God’s blessing of these prayers, and are excited to see who He will call and what magnificent things He will do in and through His servants. Just think of the impact 2,900 missionaries could make. How many more churches could be planted? How many more disciples of Jesus could be made?
We are grateful for your participation and will join you in praying for God to raise up 2,900 new missionaries from the PCA.
Sincerely,
Lloyd Kim
