Tokyo Light Project
Asia - East | Project # 92907
Do you ever find it hard to share your faith in your place of work? Is “ministry” the only work God values? In a country where overwork is the norm and just 0.5% of people identify as evangelical Christian, integrating faith and work is a very new concept for most Christians. Japanese companies are largely opposed to any expression of the Christian faith, and that cultural tradition makes it easy to compartmentalize these parts of life.
The Tokyo Light Project is helping Japanese Christians integrate their faith with their working life. It is teaching them how to view work from God’s perspective and how to be salt and light wherever they go. As participants are guided through a gospel-centered nine-week course, they gain the theological grounding needed to integrate faith and work. Graduates of the program say their understanding of the gospel has deepened, and they have learned to see their workplace with a kingdom vision.
Your generous support of this project will enable the light of Jesus Christ to shine in Japan’s workplaces—and into all of Japan.
