Mexico Church Planting Leadership Development
Americas - North | Project # 97358
In partnership with MTW, the National Presbyterian Church of Mexico (NPCM) has a goal to plant 10 churches in 10 years in northwestern Mexico. This is an area with little to no Reformed witness. The NPCM provides the vast majority of the funding for this goal, but they have sought help from MTW in the area of church planter training.
The pastors here are very committed to church planting, but many have little preparation. MTW assists by providing training through the MTW Monterrey team’s Church Planting Institute. In the future they hope to provide incubator training, coaching, and leadership training in San Diego-Tijuana, reducing the need for travel.
The MTW team leader reports, “When we teach and train with a gospel focus you can see the light come on in their eyes. One pastor told me recently that he feels like he used to whip the people with his preaching until he learned about Christ-centered, gospel-centered preaching.”
The number of churches planted is meaningless if those churches are not filled with the transformative gospel of grace. Thank you for your generous gifts!
