Ethiopia Church Planting

Grace of the Messiah Presbyterian Church, an official, legally recognized denomination in Ethiopia, was initially launched through the outstanding reputation and relationships established by community health projects (Ethiopia ACT). Out of that was born a church plant. In a context where most Protestant churches embrace the prosperity gospel, Reformed, covenantal, and Presbyterian churches such as Grace of the Messiah are swimming against the current.

Grace of the Messiah Presbyterian Church is still an emerging presbytery in its infancy. There are a handful of church plants at various stages of health and development, representing a few hundred worshipers. They are led by a few Ethiopian ruling elders, a couple of Ethiopian teaching elders, some candidates for ordained ministry, and an MTW missionary.
