Ethiopia Church Planting
Africa | Project # 92254
Building on the outstanding reputation and relationships established by the Ethiopia ACT project, a team of Ethiopian partners and MTW missionaries has begun a church-planting movement in the capital city of Addis Ababa. They seek to start redemptive and counter-cultural communities of grace in the heart of the city that value worship, word, sacrament, and kingdom justice. Many of the existing evangelical churches commonly preach a prosperity gospel.
Ethiopian-led teams that include MTW missionaries minister and teach, lead worship and prayer, offer spiritual counseling and pastoral care, and develop children’s ministry. After an initial church plant in Suki, the team continues to identify other areas of Addis for future churches. The vision is for these church plants to be gospel-centered communities open for the entire neighborhood—regardless of a person’s health status or ethnic, linguistic, religious, or socio-economic background.
Please partner with them as they establish local churches that live out the gospel with their heads, hands, and hearts in all the neighborhoods of the city.
