Diversifi Project

Bridgett, an African American woman from Alabama, had never traveled far beyond her home state; yet with the encouragement of her pastor and his wife, she traveled to West Africa to serve on an MTW team. Her small church, family, and community rallied around her, although this was not something they were used to either. But with MTW’s encouragement at every step along the way, Bridgett saw God provide for her to participate on her first-ever short-term mission trip.

What happened on the trip? Bridgett sensed a call to long-term service; and what’s more, the missionaries in country affirmed that call by inviting her to return for a two-month internship.

MTW has made a strong commitment to diversify its workforce. We believe that when more diverse missionaries are invited and encouraged to bring their voices and their gospel stories, it better reflects the image of God and sets the foundation for fruitful ministries.
