Pray for Afghan refugees arriving in new cities all around the world, and for ministry efforts to serve them in word and deed.
Pray for the Presbyterian Church in Sierra Leone, where churches are growing and nationals are taking on leadership, but where there are no ordained pastors.
Pray for MTW’s growth and expansion as leaders think through where they’d love to see new churches established and what it would take to make them a reality.
Give thanks today for long-serving MTW missionaries who have given their lives to help fulfill the Great Commission.
Pray for the global Church’s response to refugees: That the church would embrace immigrants by extending hospitality and meeting basic needs; enfold them into community through friendship, language learning, education, and employment; and engage them with the gospel in Word and deed.
Pray for Afghanistan: For security for those vulnerable to violence, extortion, sickness/COVID, loss of vital necessities, lack of employment, and an absence of emotional support; stability for the economy, government, infrastructure, education, and social services; and spiritual awakening for those trapped in an ideology of fear and disillusionment.
Pray for Afghan refugees: Comfort for those in precarious situations, particularly those traveling through dangerous environments; consolation for those who have lost possessions, relationships, occupations, security, and innocence; connection with loved ones separated in the chaos; and connection with community in the countries where they settle.
Pray for Afghan believers: Protection for those being targeted by the Taliban, preservation of the church as members are scattered and hiding, perseverance for those persecuted for their faith, proclamation of the gospel with boldness and clarity as God opens doors.
