As an MTW missionary you can use your business experience for the kingdom. You can start a business, train or mentor budding entrepreneurs, help local Christians start their own businesses, or coordinate BAM efforts in your country of service as a BAM Regional Coordinator.
By starting a business, or helping local Christians start business you will be creating a unique platform to build relationships, serve your community, and open up doors to preach the gospel where it might otherwise go unheard. Local communities and churches benefit from having their people involved in businesses based on sound Christian principles, and doors that are closed to local pastors often open more freely when business is being discussed. Think of your business knowledge as being a universal language to form personal relationships as a vehicle for outreach.
This is not for everyone. It can involve much in terms of learning and adapting to a new culture. It may require learning a new language. It is also many times more difficult to be in business in another country. However, it can be done successfully!
If you want to pursue Business as Mission with MTW, we are prepared and excited to help you however we can. This may include: (a) helping you learn the new culture, language and customs; (b) introducing you to a pastor and church in the area; (c) possibly assisting you with finding employees, suppliers, customers, and financial and legal advisors in country; (d) praying for and with you.
