Serve Missionary Families | April 28-May 5, 2026

Opportunity Details
Our MTW Africa & Global Muslim Ministries Area Retreat will be held April 28-May 5, 2026, in Crete, Greece, at the Creta Maris. Volunteers arrive April 28; missionaries arrive April 29. An Area Retreat is a time for missionaries and their families to step away from their daily routines for a time of refreshment for their souls through fellowship with other servants of the Lord.
Throughout the week, missionary families will need individuals to care for their children, specifically ages of infant through 9 years old. MTW’s Member Care team is asking for volunteers who are gifted in childcare to serve for a week, providing programs and activities for various age groups.
What is required?
Each participant must complete an MTW volunteer application, background check, and online child protection training. You will need to raise support or use your own finances to pay for airfare to Crete as well as food and lodging for the week.
Where will we stay?
Creta Maris
Can I bring my family so we can serve together?
Yes, we encourage making this a family mission experience! However, please consider whether children can actively participate in the care of the missionaries’ children, or if they will add to the number of children needing care.
Will there be free time to experience the area?
There will be time for you to enjoy the beauty of the area in between scheduled childcare activities.
Project Cost:
Estimate: $2,300-$2,500 per person, plus airfare. During your day off, as a way of saying thank you, MTW will cover the cost for you to participate in a planned excursion. It is recommended to bring $200 for your personal spending.
How many volunteers are needed?
Fifteen individuals will be needed.
