Opportunity Details

Madagascar, off the coast of East Africa, has a steadily growing population and is becoming increasingly urban. The capital city, Antananarivo, has about 4 million people. Madagascar is considered a Christian country with over half the population subscribing to Catholicism, Lutheranism, or Pentecostalism. However, only a tiny fraction identifies as Reformed Presbyterian. Considering the culture’s relative openness to Christianity, this creates a tremendous opportunity to plant Reformed Presbyterian churches.

A PCA couple (first and second generation Malagasy) is looking to return to their home country and plant churches; we want to recruit another family to partner with them. This will be church planting from the ground up in a third world urban context.

The husband should have an M.Div. and be ordained; church planting experience would be ideal. Both husband and wife must be strong relationally and have conflict resolution skills. Learning the local language (Malagasy) will be essential.
