Opportunity Details

Although Guatemala is considered to be predominantly Christian, in reality many people follow a mix of the prosperity gospel and animism stemming from Mayan cultural roots. Although small, the Reformed community has a solid and growing foothold and there is a noted hunger for the Word and a shift toward Reformed ideas. The National Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Guatemala (IENPG) was founded by Presbyterian missionaries in 1882 and makes up the largest presence.

Into this context, MTW is looking to develop new ministry. Guatemala will be a new field for us and this would be the start of a new team.

We are looking for a teaching elder who is resilient and independent with an entrepreneurial posture and gifting, someone who has a long game mentality and is ready to put down roots and be committed to a slow and steady advancement and posture. Eventually he would recruit a team to serve around him.
