Karen Adjei
Missionary | Japan | Acct # 401069

Karen Adjei is from Washington, D.C. After she miraculously became a follower of Christ in South Africa during college, the Lord redirected her post-graduate plans and she explored missions for the first time in the Kansai region of Japan.
Japan is a country filled with beauty, yet its people suffer in silence from loneliness, hopelessness, and despair due to numerous familial, societal, and cultural pressures. With no escape, many are driven to suicide. Karen resonated with these hidden hardships that she too had struggled with, and the Lord began to burden her heart with compassion for the Japanese. Trusting in the Lord’s direction, Karen enrolled in graduate school to become a librarian where she providentially met the academic dean of Christ Bible Institute in Nagoya.
Karen is excited to return to Japan with Christ Bible Institute to support the spiritual formation of future Japanese ministry leaders in a country that desperately needs the light of Christ to drive out darkness. Using her information and administrative expertise as well as interests in the arts, mercy ministry, and friendship with women, she hopes to encourage Japanese Christians to spread the transformative love of Christ throughout Japan and the rest of Asia.
