Tim is from Newburgh, New York, and attended Boston College. Thérèse grew up in York, Pennsylvania, and attended the University of Delaware. After meeting in Boston, they married in 1982 and moved to the Chicago area where Tim attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Upon receiving his M.Div., Tim served as a minister of Christian education in a local church. Sensing God’s leading to be more active in evangelism, Tim returned to the business world where he was employed as a commercial banker for over 20 years. The Galages have two grown children, Stephanie and Becky.
Through multiple exposures to the vast training needs of leaders in third-world churches, Tim and Thérèse developed a burden to equip national leadership. Tim pursued further training at Covenant Seminary to prepare him for this task, receiving a master of theology in 2007.
Since 2011 Tim and Thérèse have been ministering in South Africa, where Tim currently serves as the Cape Town team leader. Their primary ministry focus is theological education and mentoring, with a particular emphasis on further equipping pastors actively serving churches in the economically-challenged townships.
