Shimoda, Lacey

Lacey will be heading to Sofia, Bulgaria, this summer to join the MTW team as they reach out to Bulgarians with the gospel. Lacey gained a heart for college ministry through her upbringing and has been greatly impacted by campus ministries during her time in college. She hopes to welcome and encourage students and as she joins the team in outreach. Lacey will also be jumping in to help with the team's English clubs by building relationships with Bulgarians while supporting them in their journey to learn English. Lastly, the team will travel to a nearby Muslim-majority country to observe and learn about the Muslim culture and what it’s like to share the gospel in that context. 

Also included in her summer internship will be the Bulgarian team’s ministry called The Well. The Well gives its interns an opportunity to engage in community and grow in Christ together as they learn and go out to serve. They will study the Bible together, discuss challenging topics, and join in serving the community surrounding the church plant. Lacey will also learn about the language, history, and culture of Bulgaria. Lacey is very excited for the intentional time she will have with this community!
