Roger and Abi lead MTW’s Tokyo Community Arts team, a team of artists and professionals working alongside Japanese nationals to assist church planting through worship, arts, evangelism, and discipleship. Roger and Abi serve with Rev. Makoto Fukuda at Grace City Church Tokyo (#92803), planted in cooperation with Redeemer City to City. Roger and Abi also lead the MAKE Collective (#96232), a global network of missionary artists within Mission to the World, Community Arts Tokyo (#92887), and Community Arts Media (P-0488), a publishing company to assist church planting in Japan through books, audio, and video.
Roger (B.S. Columbia University, M.M. The Juilliard School, M.A.T.S. Reformed Theological Seminary – Expected 2023) and Abi (B.M. Belhaven University, M.M. University of Memphis) have been serving with Mission to the World since 2003. They have four sons.
Roger has won numerous competitions and released five albums on the pipe organ, including one with Abi. Roger has also authored The Broken Leaf: Meditations on Art, Life, and Faith in Japan (Wipf and Stock, 2019), Pippy the Piano and the Very Big Wave (Community Arts Media, 2020), Aroma of Beauty (Community Arts Media, 2021), and A Taste of Grace (Community Arts Media, 2022).
