Pate, Oakley

Since he was young, Oakley has loved Japan and the Japanese language. He never really knew why this was the case, but during his university years, Oakley felt the call to minister in Japan. Now, through MTW, Oakley will be serving at Covenant Community School International in Chiba, Japan, as an intern for 11 months to help raise students in the faith, minister at nearby church plants, lead devotions with students, teach various subjects, and work to expand God’s kingdom. 

Japan is the second largest unreached people group in the world. Cultural and language barriers are some of many reasons evangelism is difficult in Japan. But by God’s grace and mercy, He will fulfill the promises accomplished in Christ Jesus such that all nations will be baptized and discipled (Matthew 28:19), and His dominion will extend to the ends of the earth (Psalm 72:8). CCSI is working to fulfill the Great Commission by training children to follow Christ all the days of their life (Proverbs 22:6). As these students grow up, they will impact their surrounding communities for Christ. Please pray for God’s leading in this endeavor, that God will use Oakley to bless the families there, and that Japan will receive the gospel.
