Park, Lauren

Serving in Japan | Acct # 400931

PERSONAL NOTE

While praying for clarity on God’s call to serve internationally, Lauren heard a sermon on Romans 15:20-21, where Paul made it his ambition to proclaim Christ in unreached places. Soon after, doors opened for Japan—a nation with the second-largest unreached people group and less than 0.4% Christians.

On two vision trips to Japan, Lauren’s eyes were opened to the spiritual needs and gospel barriers among the Japanese people. Her heart broke as she saw people clap to “wake up” the gods at shrines and felt the intense pressure to conform. Japan’s churches also face urgent needs: Most pastors are over 60, nearly half of churches may be without a pastor by 2030, and there are no full-time college pastors.

Ages 15–29 are especially critical for faith formation, and Lauren hopes to reach Japanese students through discipleship and fellowship. Having come to faith shortly after college, she understands the impact of encountering the gospel in young adulthood. Combining her church-planting experience and passion for students, she will join a team in Chiba, Japan, focused on college ministry with a local church plant.

Please pray for Japanese lives to be transformed and consider supporting her financially!
