Mikael and Zuzanna met in graduate school in Greenville, South Carolina, in 2016 and married the following year. Zuzanna is from Poland, and Mikael is from Finland. Both came to the U.S. to study theology and to bring the gospel back to parts of Europe where it is rarely heard. Their home church in the U.S. is Downtown Presbyterian Church in Greenville.

Mikael felt a strong calling to evangelism and church planting at age 15 in Finland. In 2009, he moved to the U.S. to study theology with plans to return to Europe. In 2015, Zuzanna arrived in the U.S. as an au pair but decided to stay after sensing God’s call to pursue biblical counseling. She earned two master’s degrees in biblical counseling and Christian ministries and aims to disciple and counsel women using Scripture.

Their vision is to see God’s kingdom advance in the Baltic Sea region of Europe by planting and multiplying biblical, Reformed, and Christ-centered churches, and training others to do the same. They are responding to God’s call to plant a Presbyterian church in Helsinki, Finland, one of the country’s first. Although Finland ranks as the world’s happiest nation, its society faces a void of truth that secular ideals and liberal theology cannot fill. Their mission is to bring the gospel’s light into this emptiness. They believe that God’s promise remains true, and He still has His people in Helsinki.

Join them as partners in God’s mission to bring the saving news of Jesus Christ to people in a post-Christian, secular context, and to plant churches where people can grow in their love and knowledge of our Savior.
