King, Julia

Serving in Peru | Acct # 14100

PERSONAL NOTE

Growing up in a Christian home and school, Julia developed an interest in international missions at an early age. During her years at Messiah College and East Carolina University physical therapy school, Julia grew in her desire to give people skills to live a full life after a life-altering injury, surgery, disease, or disability. Her desire to share the hope that is found only in relationship with the Lord grew as well.

Julia pursued this vision through various physical therapy settings in the U.S., as well as Central America and Africa. Through all of this, the Lord confirmed her calling to medical missions. In Cusco, Peru, Julia will oversee the physical therapy clinic, ministering primarily to the impoverished Quechua people. She has learned how powerful touch can be in developing relationships, sharing the gospel, and healing. Julia’s heart is to help those with physical disabilities, often considered “the least of these,” to feel recognized, loved, and able to participate in life and society.

Julia is excited God led her to Cusco. She looks forward to practicing a Christ-centered approach to healthcare and contributing to other areas of the team’s mission: medical students, the Josephine House (children’s home), and campus ministry.
