Serving in Kenya | Acct # 301374

PERSONAL NOTE

Sam and Gloria, both Korean Americans, bring a diverse blend of backgrounds with Sam also having roots in Kenya. Sam's upbringing was in East Africa, specifically Kenya, where he spent 19 years as an MK. Meanwhile, Gloria was born in California and raised in northern Virginia. Gloria has been working for 15 years as a financial analyst, while Sam has dedicated his time to serving in various capacities within the local church, both domestically and internationally. With a Ph.D. in intercultural studies, Sam is also an ordained PCA teaching elder.

In 2024, Sam and Gloria were asked to go to East Africa and for Sam to take on the regional director leadership role. They look forward to the opportunity to work alongside MTW teams and local partners in East Africa. Their shared goal is to realize the vision of cultivating healthy regional church planting movements and fostering their multiplication. They will be based in Kenya. Sam and Gloria hope to not only serve our teams in the region but also build a team in Kenya. While in Kenya, Sam will continue his role stateside as director of diversity mobilization and work with MTW's hubs and local churches.
