PERSONAL NOTE

At the age of 3, Vanessa stood in awe looking at the towering blue-roofed pagoda at Disney’s Epcot, a replica of the 7th century Horyuji Temple. Since then, her love and interest in Japanese culture, art, and media has continued to grow. Vanessa is a sophomore at Gordon College majoring in art and communication arts. As she progressed through her collegiate studies, she felt God calling her to use her artistic skillset to serve the Lord in Japan. For seven weeks she will work alongside the Tokyo Community Arts team to engage with local communities through manga and other art mediums to share the good news.

Vanessa is excited to spread the gospel through creative expression in Japan this summer. She will be serving in Tokyo. As she embarks on this journey, please pray for her to serve humbly and joyfully as she unites people in fellowship.
