Japan is a country with great spiritual needs. Only 0.3% of the population is Christian, making the Japanese the second largest unreached people group in the world. The church in Japan is also struggling; only 2% of pastors are between the ages of 30 and 40, so there is a critical need to train the next generation of church leaders.

Mark and Esther serve the Japanese through theological education and discipleship. They met at Cornell University where God first gave them a heart for missions. To that end, Mark earned an M.Div. at Westminster Seminary and a doctorate in New Testament at Duke University. Esther worked as a pediatrician for several years with the hope that God would use her professional skills to further His kingdom. They are members of the Christ Bible Institute team in Nagoya, where Mark serves as a professor of New Testament at Christ Bible Seminary, while Esther serves as a medical advisor to missionary families. She also builds community with Japanese medical students as a part-time lecturer at Nagoya University Medical School.

Please consider partnering with them for the advance of the gospel in Japan!
