Halbert, Alex & Maggie

Alex and Maggie have seen God’s sovereign hand guiding them toward a life of full-time missionary service. Through short-term mission trips, upbringings with parents who loved the gospel, and churches that preached the importance of missions from the pulpit, God has grown their desire for overseas missions. Alex and Maggie spent the last five years serving in Stellenbosch, South Africa, with a Christian leadership development ministry dedicated to discipling and multiplying spiritually mature and biblically knowledgeable Christian servants. 

It was during this time in South Africa where the Lord continually grew the Halberts’ desire to serve more closely alongside a church-planting team. Because of this, they are excited about transitioning to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, where Alex spent the first 12 years of his life. Alex’s role will be overseeing internships, leading short-term teams, and building relationships with ministries already doing good work in the city. He’ll also serve the church in diaconal roles and assist with administrative duties. Alex and Maggie have also seen the value of genuine hospitality. They look to serve the church plant by inviting people into their home and investing in the lives of those around them with the generosity of their time and space.
