Martin, David & Jill
Serving in Ukraine | Acct # 14759
David and Jill Martin met at Covenant College where they were training to be teachers. For two years in the 80s they ran a school for missionary kids as part of the MTW team in Cuzco, Peru. After that, David went to graduate school and then became an instructor at Auburn University at Montgomery in Alabama. They became members of Eastwood Presbyterian Church. In 1998 they joined MTW again to run Anchor School, an MK school in Odesa, Ukraine. Their children Ruth Anne, Paul, and Shirley graduated from Anchor School, and in 2014 Ruth Anne returned as a teacher.
When Russia attacked Ukraine in February of 2022, Anchor School families evacuated Ukraine. The Martins and the MTW Odesa team evacuated to Brasov, Romania. There the Martins finished the year by teaching their scattered students online. Since June 2022 Anchor School has been closed.
The Martins and the MTW Odesa team now minister to the physical, educational, and spiritual needs of displaced Ukrainians in Brasov. The Martins hope one day to return to Odesa and reopen Anchor School. Please pray that God would build His kingdom during these turbulent times, bring peace, and help the Martins to serve Him faithfully.
