Makhalira, Confex & Mwai
Serving in Malawi | Acct # 94920
Confex and Mwai will be planting a church in Blantyre, Malawi, Southeast Africa. They both became Christians in their youth and met in Bible college in Malawi. They married in 2010 and the Lord has blessed them with two girls. Confex holds a master of divinity from Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in Michigan and is an ordained teaching elder in the PCA. Mwai holds a bachelor of arts in biblical studies. She has also received training in children and youth ministry as well as biblical counseling.
You might wonder, why plant another church in a country that has many churches? The greatest need in Malawi, the Makhaliras believe, is sound churches that faithfully proclaim the gospel of Christ and ground people in Christ and His Word. There are not many such churches in Malawi. Therefore, by God’s help and grace, Confex and Mwai desire to plant churches that are Reformed in theology and Presbyterian in government. The church plant will reach out to families as well as students since Blantyre is a college town. Mwai will also counsel children and youth who have experienced various traumas including death of parents, various abuses, and abandonment.
