Elijah, a native Ohioan, and Jessie, a Michigander, met their freshman year at Spring Arbor University and were married four years later in 2017. They first moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, in August of 2018 and began serving in a local church, Cornerstone, while Elijah continued his theological studies and Jessie studied biblical counseling. During the last four years they welcomed their first child into the world and have continued to follow God’s call to local church ministry within the Free Church of Scotland and with Mission to the World.
By God’s grace, this call has lead Elijah, Jessie, and their son to an opportunity to church plant as they have been asked to co-plant a Free Church congregation in Leven, Scotland, along with a national couple with whom they’ve lived and trained while in Edinburgh. This church will reach a community that is largely unreached with the gospel and witness to the hope that can only be found in Christ alone.
